As with my previous visit to Hawaii I have stayed longer than my
original intention. I had planned to get back from Micronesia, spend a
week or two here, simply to send some mail, spend time with friends, and
enjoy the benefits of being in a developed area.
However the spending time with friends and being close to shops, bars and
cinemas has meant that I have extended my stay here. Life at the
Polynesian Hostel
Beach Club continues much as ever, although perhaps a little quieter
than earlier in the year.
On 19 May 1999 we went to see Star Wars Episode 1, on its opening day. We
hadn't expected to be able to get tickets, but having done so made a day
of it, going out to Sam Choys restaurant and micro-brewery first.
I have been doing a bit of boogieboarding on Waikiki beach the last few
days, when you catch a good wave and ride it in its a very exhilarating
feeling.
On 26 April the hostel had a Bar-B-Que on the beach at Waikiki, we played
a few games of volleyball and had an enjoyable time.
I would like to have stayed even longer in Hawaii, but there is so much
more of the world I want to see, and so little time to see it in.
Therefore with some regrets, but many good memories, I leave the
Polynesian Hostel & Beach Club for the last time.
